MAURICE BRIANCHON (1899-1979 ) Parisian artist and designer, Maurice Brianchon espoused the figurative style of painting. He was responsible for many set and costume designs at the Paris opera, and was commissioned to paint murals in various public buildings. His representation of characters from the worlds of theatre, music-hall, and the Paris cafe culture, follow in the footsteps of Toulouse-Lautrec, whilst his landscape have the timeless feel of the post-impressionist era. |
