JACQUES BOULLAIRE (1893-1976) A highly regarded book illustrator with a substantial output, Boullaire developed many of the techniques of engraving, starting as a self-taught artist in the early 1920's and progressing from wood engraving to copper, drypoint and lithography. His subjects included works by Balzac, Flaubert, Proust, Gide, to name but a few. |
